the look

My mojo seems to have vacated the building of late, but I did manage to get a layout scraped for Janet over at Scrapville for this months sketch challenge, so with out further delay.............

The sketch......
Here is my take...........I have been wanting to do an all white page for a while now and I thought this sketch really allowed me to play with the idea. I really had fun adding all those gems with my i-rock, which I have to say is fast becoming my new favorite tool he,he,he!!! All the squares have been done with a different embossing folder, which I think really adds a little fun to the page and is also great for using up scraps.

Here is a close up to really show off the texture, the trees have been done with white flocking and for the tree trunks I have used crackle accents which adds a cool new look.
Well I am hoping that this challenge has kick started my mojo again, and I will be back soon with some more to share, but untill then.... thats all folks!!!!

fairytales....

Here is one of my layouts from last months Scrapburst challenge over at Scrapville

* 1 word title - cherish
* 2 ribbons - check
* 3 shapes - 2 flowers and 1 butterfly
* 4 photos- check
* 5 buttons- check

WOW! July already, tax time, stock take for many and some pretty good sales popping up all over the place, it also means a new and exciting monthly pack is available at Scrapville, and this month Janet has put together a beautiful pack with some Graphic 45 papers, Once Upon A Springtime, with gorgeous colours and fun fairytale patterns, which you can get a sneak peak of at Scrapville.

Here is my take, and although I was a little nervous to tell the truth about the pack ( they are not my usual style of papers) I had a blast cutting out the fairies, rabbits and flowers and adding my own flare to the layout, lots of distressing and some messy sewing, a favorite of mine at the moment he,he,he

Dream BIG

Hello All,

Well I had good intentions but once again I have neglected the blog, I will try my best to update more often, REALLY!
Anyway here are a few layouts I have been working on lately.
First up is my take on this months sketch over at scrapville,

Here is the sketch...........
and here is my take.......... It is a little different from my usual style, but I had a blast working on it and was really happy with the way it turned out. I have had a play with some tissue paper (dress making pattern) and added lots of distressing, sewing, glimmer mist and a little stamping (shock horror!) but I love the effect and I plan to play a little more, it's not like I don't have a stash of gorgeous stamps that have not even seen the light of day he,he,he!!!

Be sure to stop by and check out our other examples on this sketch, join in the fun and have ago for yourself, we would love to see your take on the sketch and admire how differently they all turn out due to style, techniques and products, plus it is lots of fun and a great way to inspire if you feel like you are in a rut, I'm sure you wont be disappointed, and for you card people out there, never fear you are NOT left out, Janet has a sketch just for you.

Second up is a layout I did as a challenge over at Scrapbooking Top 50. The challenge was to......
* use doilies
* the colour blue
* staples

Here is my layout..........

a close up........

It shows some of the stamping, messy stitching and some cool little cogs which have been covered in silver kindy glitz, and as you have probably guessed I have been playing with doilies, gauze, glimmer mist, paint and lots of distressing lately and I am pretty sure you will see more of this.

Thanks for stopping by, and don't be shy, leave a comment, it makes my day!!!!!

monthly pack

Hi,

I'm back! Sorry I have been neglecting the blog this last month, but now school is back it's time to return to the normal routine......... well at least for the next few weeks LOL!

Joshua has settled right back into school and loves being back, he makes a run for the bus when he sees it coming, which is a relief and Noah seems to have enjoyed his first week of Kindy better than me LOL!

Some of you will already know this next bit of exciting news but to those of you new followers out there tuning in my local scrapbook shop Scrapville have asked me to join the design team as a guest designer, and of course I said a big fat Yes! So I have been working on a few projects as part of my guest role and have had a blast at the same time, so I though I would share a few project with you all.

These two layouts have been done using Scrapville's Monthly Pack and the adorable Bo Bunny range which is simply divine and sooooooo much fun to play with.

First up is my annual fridge calendar............

Second is a layout of my adorable niece taken when they came over for a holiday last August, who could resist those big blue eyes............

This is just a sample of some of the many things you can do using this fantastic pack, and I still have plenty of yummy goodness left to play with, trust me you wont be disappointed so be quick, they will be sure to sell out fast!
Well that's all for now, I will be back in a few days with next months sketch challenge from Scrapville so stay tuned.........

happy new year

Happy New Year Everyone, hoping you all had a lovely Christmas and a very happy New Years and are all relaxed and ready for a new year. We had a very quiet time over the holiday period but are all happy and relaxed and back to normal, well as normal as it can be during the school holidays LOL!

The boys had a great time and were very happy with all their goodies from Santa. Joshua has grown taller I'm sure over the last few weeks and is becoming what I like to call a pre teen with attitude! Noah is all excited about starting 4 year old kindy next month, while Steve has returned to work after a short break over Christmas and I am trying to organise my house ready for when we go on our much awaited holiday to Perth in February, visiting family and friends.

Unfortunately I have managed very little scrapping lately but I did manage to complete 1 challenge for Scrapbooking Top 50, the challenge was, a layout with at least half a page of white space, here is what I did.......

I also managed a few challenges for Janet over at 'Scrapville', which you can check out. Well I'm off to do the housework!

sweet dreams

Hi Everyone,

Just a quick one to show you all my latest layout, it is for a challenge over at Scrapbooking Top 50, the guideline was "Recycled" So for me this was a huge challenge once again but in saying that I had a blast.

The 12x12 card stock was rescued from a garbage bin at Steve's work which I inked and distressed. The map is from a real map that was no longer needed (you've gotta love GPS), the green card stock is from some packaging from some Prima flowers and the other paper was torn from an old book. I have inked and distressed all the papers and hand sewn them onto the card stock. The doilies are cut from an old table runner that I got from the op shop, the clock hands were from a broken old clock destined for the bin, and the string was floating around in the bottom of the junk draw in the kitchen, the only thing I used that was not recycled where the bee's and the alpha's. A little cream paint splashed here and there............

over the rainbow

Here is my layout for a dare challenge over at Scrapbooking Top 50.
The criteria was.....
* a rainbow
* grunge
* wire
* 1 pattered paper, 1 card stock

So for me this was a big challenge because I love pattered papers, but I gave it ago and I have to say I am really happy with the way it turned out.
All of the coloured sections have been distressed using texture paste and paint then inked with black to try and make it look more like grunge, this was my take on a rainbow, all of the bright colours. I had never used texture paste before, so that was a lot of fun and I am sure I will use it again. The photo is mounted on fly wire and I have also added a little fly wire to the larger butterflies which I was really happy with, a few staples here and there and.............

2 new layouts!

Hi Everyone,
I am really going to try and upload my blog more often, but I will admit I am still terrible at the whole thing. My plan is also to update and redesign it a little but I think I need Steve's help because it is all a little confusing to me LOL! so stay tuned........ In the meantime here is a couple of layouts I have just finished, or should I say... Steve just took photos of for me hehehe!!!!
The first layout was for a sketch challenge at Imaginisce and the second is a sketch for this months sketch challenge at Scrapville which you will recognise from the previous post but I did Noah this time, I really liked the layout so for the first time ever I did one for each of the boys, I don't think they will mind hehehe!!!

Sunday, October 24, 2010

Just a few more layouts to share, I am really trying to get the hang of photography my layouts (Steve helps me, well he does most of it LOL!) but I am watching and learning so hopefully I will be able to do it myself soon, and I will be working on my blog to make it a little more like some of the other wonderful scrappers out there who have there own blogs, but please be patient with me.
Noah is a little upset with me at the moment because I have been scrapping Josh the last few layouts, which I may add is a change, Noah has had his fare share of layouts over the last few months LOL!

kraft it up sketch

Hi all,

I decided it was time to stop looking at all the wonderful challenges uploaded by different sites and give one ago for myself, and I have to say, I had lot's of fun doing this sketch challenge. I have tried to do something a little different from my usual style and I am happy with the way it turned out.

Here is the sketch.....

Here is my take on it.......
